Tips to help you quit for good

  • Speak to a doctor about quitting cigarettes/smoking 

  • Use muscle relaxation and breathing techniques

  • Avoid friends who smoke or situations that involve smoking in the early stages of quitting

  • Rehearse saying no to when someone offers you a cigarette

  • Avoid or minimise alcohol consumption when you begin quitting

  • Avoid or reduce drinking coffee or other drinks containing caffeine

  • Tell you friends and family to support you and keep you accountable

  • Eat healthy food, avoiding high-fat and high-sugar foods, 

  • Drink water instead of sugary drinks

  • Exercise regularly 

  • Reward yourself with a smoke-free activity
